Hair Transplant For Women
Dr. Emrah Cinik specializes in the hair transplant for women field. So far, he has helped hundreds of his patients grow luscious and healthy hair. Unfortunately, hair loss in women is very common. To make sure that the cause is not rooted in the thyroid gland or an autoimmune disease, Dr. Emrah Cinik always starts with blood work when assessing women with hair problems.
Besides these two, other factors can cause hair loss in women and lead to one of the specific types of hair loss. One of them is genes. Androgenetic alopecia, or female pattern hair loss, is written in the genes the same as male pattern baldness. It usually occurs in the late 50s and 60s, but it can happen even earlier.
There is another culprit responsible for hair loss in women, and that is bad hair treatment. This so-called self-inflicted hair loss when hair becomes thin or bald is a result of aggressive hairstyles (cornrows, tight braids), regular use of blow dryers, flat irons, bad brushes, and chemical hair treatments.
There is a solution for all of these problems – a hair transplant for women.
How Does A Hair Transplant For Women Work?
Dr. Emrah Cinik treats female hair loss with hair transplant procedures. The procedures are not overly complex to understand. First, you will have to schedule the hair transplant surgery in Dr. Emrah Cinik Hospital. The procedure and recuperation periods don’t take long. The very procedure will take only one day.
The entire procedure is done in one session. Firstly, the doctor will assess the best donor sites on your body. Donor areas are most commonly sides and the back of the patient’s head. Also, the donor area isn’t affected by hair loss.
Once the assessment is done, he will take grafts of hair follicles, or donor-hair, and transplant them to recipient sites. In this case, recipient sites are areas on the patient’s head affected by hair loss.
The procedure is completely harmless and painless. Dr. Emrah Cinik applies local anesthesia so you can relax while the doctor finishes the job.
Do The Hairs Have To Be Shaved?
The FUE hair transplant technique required the donor-area to be shaved. On the other hand, the DHI method allows the surgeon to perform hair transplantation without shaving the head at all. DHI method ensures that follicles remain only a couple of minutes outside the body. This is a very short period which makes transplantation easier.
The DHI method is always the primary method for patients with non-balding areas on her scalp. This method allows surgeons to achieve a higher density of hair. If we have to compare the times of both procedures, we have to say that DHI takes more time than FUE hair transplant.
The reasons behind this are the requirements, such a surgeon’s knowledge and experience, and precision, attention, and attentiveness.
If you would like to find out more about hair transplantation techniques, feel free to schedule a consultation with Dr. Emrah Cinik. After a thorough examination is complete, rest assured that you will get the best treatment possible, and achieve the desired hair growth.
Which Method Is Used ?
The type of procedure, or hair loss treatment if you prefer, will depend on your personal needs. Before deciding which method to use, the doctor will carefully examine you. There are two different plastic surgery methods to promote hair growth, FUE and DHI hair transplant.
FUE hair transplant is a cutting-edge technique practiced in hair transplant surgery. It leaves no scars nor side effects because it is minimally invasive and requires no hair-bearing. The doctor will use a micromotor and make micro incisions as tiny as 0.6 to 1.2mm to extract follicular units. By the way, FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction.
Once the follicular units are extracted, the surgeon will make small holes in your scalp. Then, he takes grafts hair follicles and places them in the holes. The entire area of the transplanted hair has to stay covered with bandages or gauze, for a couple of days.
DHI Hair Transplant
DHI hair transplant is similar to the FUE hair transplant procedure. The doctor will use the same micromotor to make micro incisions and extract hair follicles.
But, to transplant donor hair follicles, he will use a Choi pen, an implanter pen commonly used in hair transplant surgery. This pen contains a hollow needle that streamlines the entire process and makes it significantly shorter even in patients with thin hair.
